This Privacy Policy explains how the Ebaoguo Assistant Chrome extension (the “Extension”), published by BAOGUO PTY LTD (“Ebaoguo”, “we”, “us”), handles information. It applies specifically to the browser extension and supplements our general Website Privacy Policy.
Single purpose
The Extension helps a signed-in Ebaoguo customer do two things from the page they are already viewing:
- Assisted purchase: on a product page, send that product’s details to your Ebaoguo account so we can buy it on your behalf.
- Parcel pre-alert: on your own “shipped orders” page, read the orders so you can pre-declare the incoming parcels to your Ebaoguo warehouse.
It also shows whether you are currently signed in to Ebaoguo, and offers quick links to the Ebaoguo shipping calculator, your orders, and your parcels.
What the Extension accesses, and why
- The content of the page you are on — only when you click the Extension, and only on supported shopping or order pages. For a product page this is the product name, price and images. For an order page this is the item names, order reference/date and, where shown, the courier tracking number. This information is used solely to pre-fill your Ebaoguo assisted-purchase or pre-alert form. The Extension does not read pages in the background, does not read pages you take no action on, and does not collect your general browsing history.
- Your Ebaoguo sign-in status. When you are on an Ebaoguo page, the Extension reads the sign-in token that the Ebaoguo website has stored in your own browser, only to display “signed in” / “not signed in” and your display name in the popup. This value is kept locally in the browser (via
chrome.storage) and is not transmitted to us by the Extension. - Your language preference. Stored locally so the popup remembers Simplified Chinese / Traditional Chinese / English.
What information is sent to Ebaoguo
Only the product or order details that you choose to import are sent — at the moment you click “add to assisted-purchase” or “pre-alert” — to Ebaoguo servers (ebaoguo.com, ap.ebaoguo.com, forwarding.ebaoguo.com) to create the corresponding order or pre-alert under your Ebaoguo account. This is handled under your existing Ebaoguo account and our Website Privacy Policy.
What the Extension does NOT do
- It does not sell or rent your data, and does not share it for advertising.
- It does not track your browsing, build a profile, or log keystrokes.
- It does not run on, or read, websites other than the supported shopping/order sites and Ebaoguo’s own pages.
- It does not collect financial account numbers, card numbers or passwords.
Permissions, in plain language
- activeTab / scripting: read the page you are currently on, only when you click the Extension, to extract the product or order details.
- storage: remember your language choice and last-known sign-in status, locally in your browser.
- tabs: open the matching Ebaoguo page (assisted-purchase or pre-alert) in a tab so your imported item appears there.
- host permissions (the supported shopping sites and
forwarding.ebaoguo.com): allow the above to work on those pages only.
Data retention
Locally stored values (language, sign-in status) remain in your browser until you clear them or remove the Extension. Order and pre-alert data you import is retained in your Ebaoguo account per our Website Privacy Policy.
Your choices
You can remove the Extension at any time from chrome://extensions, which deletes its local data. You remain in control: the Extension only acts when you click it.
