Japan Post EMS Service Fee (Mandatory)

• International EMS can mail to over 144 countries and regions worldwide. Enter the address, and the system will automatically calculate the required freight
• International EMS is part of the Universal Postal Union system, and most countries or regions entrust delivery to the local postal system

However, there is still a risk that the destination country’s customs may detain the goods and levy taxes. Should the destination customs detain the goods or charge fees, the recipient must bear the responsibility themselves.

EMS has strong customs clearance capabilities, but items prohibited by aviation or customs cannot be shipped.

• Insurance is not mandatory; the insurance fee is 5% of the declared value.
• If insurance is not purchased and the goods are lost, only the actual shipping cost paid will be refunded.
• Regardless of how much you declare, the maximum compensation amount for a shipment’s insurance is 500 Japanese yen.
• If insurance is not purchased and the goods are confirmed lost, only the actual shipping cost paid will be refunded.
• If the goods are not received within 60 working days from the shipping date, they will be automatically considered lost.
• If customs detention occurs due to false declaration, the insurance terms will be automatically voided.
• When declaring insurance, proof of purchase such as invoices or payment records must be provided and must match the declared amount.
